Blog Post Image: NASA to Launch Ocean Wind Monitor to Space Station

ISS-RapidScat data will help improve weather forecasts, including hurricane monitoring, producing imagery similar to this NASA QuikScat satellite image of Hurricane Katrina, acquired Aug. 28, 2005. The image depicts relative wind speeds swirling around the calm center of the storm. The highest wind speeds are shown in shades of purple.
