Blog Post Image: Fructose More Toxic than Table Sugar in Mice

Bathed in reddish-pink light that means it is nighttime for mice, University of Utah biologists James Ruff and Wayne Potts stand in front of a series of “mouse barns” used in their latest study of the toxicity of sugars fed to mice in doses proportionate to the sugar consumption of many people. Mice cannot detect the pink light but people can, so it allows the researchers to work in the mouse barn area during nighttime for the mice.
